Often, we think of inclusion as inviting someone to the table. But true disability inclusion is about redesigning the room so that the table works for everyone from the start. It moves the focus from fixing individuals to fixing environments and attitudes.
March is Disability Awareness Month — a time to reflect, learn, and commit to building a more inclusive world.
Disability is not defined solely by diagnosis, imaging, or impairment. It is shaped by environment, access, attitudes, and opportunity.
At @LamicareDRO,we are not just restoring movement — we are advocating for participation, autonomy, and dignity.
Disability awareness also means examining our own biases. Are our communication styles inclusive? Are we truly listening to what matters most to the person in front of us?
Rehabilitation is most powerful when it centers on ability rather than limitation. When we shift from asking, “What can’t you do?” to “What matters to you, and how can we support that?” — outcomes change.
This month is a reminder that inclusion is not a one-time initiative. It is an ongoing responsibility in healthcare, workplaces, schools, and communities.

On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, let's amplify the voices and leadership of those with disabilities for a more inclusive future. Together, we can break barriers and ensure equal opportunities for all.
