A wealthy class that thrives on grift of the public coffers doesn't just expropriate from the working man, but produces a degenerate and immoral social elite, whose inferior ethics and taste then waterfall into their surroundings and poison the commons of civil society.
@smilinglllama man, for all the doom and gloom it's a lovely country
is kinda crazy some of the roads that are a 60 limit while motorways are 70
and seeing bikers riding around, i'd never in a million years have guessed one might be talking to himself about cobie, gainzy and size chad lmao
@MimanyMaker@JetherBlaise i think US just has higher rate of ppl using dating apps than europe
if you're setting preferences for height you'll go for a round number, say 6' or 180cm
if you meet sb irl, the difference between 5'11 and 6' is not even noticeable, but using apps, it'll be a common threshold
@karbonbased For getting around, subway system everything will have english, uber works for taxis although iirc it has a different name and the icon changes
@karbonbased There’s a decent amount of English spoken, certainly in the places common for tourists/business travel, menus and such will have English
I can’t imagine you’ll have many difficulties a translation app couldn’t sort out easily
@alreadydawn I suppose the Chinese government just assumes (likely correctly) it'll come naturally in the long run, due to the size of the country and the scale of its companies?
Whereas SK, for example, needed a well organised push to get things started bc it was historically overlooked
@the_rosenrot@alreadydawn Have A Nice Day is great. I have Suzhou River sitting on the shelf but haven't got round to watching it yet... soon!
I love Long Day's Journey Into Night by Bi Gan, superficially it looks gritty, but it's like watching a dream, not sure I've seen anything else quite like it.
@BrenzGarage i think his question is less "why" and more "how"
as in, britain's economy is fucked, where are people getting the money lol
that said there are only 200 gt3 rs here, most of which are likely not for sale, and 23k+ UHNWIs, so doesn't seem that surprising to me
@satsdart gamers love to complain but games, hardware and monitors are some of the few things that are actually a bargain now, so much cheaper than the past when adjusted for inflation
