@revdoor21@SPotatoes8 @thatssomcgivern @profprofMFL You need to do your homework! They did not sit at home! The pension is only good because teachers pay a lot into their own pension! MPS have longer holidays than teachers but can’t say they work 55+plus a week. Oh and by the way teachers are not paid for these holidays!
Teacher pay and school funding.
We have a teaching crisis.
Our government has made teaching less attractive to the general public.
Almost every school struggles in some shape or form to find long-term solutions to recruitment.
For parents?
Their children, in some cases, will have a) non-specialist or supply.
It's all our schools/pupils who suffer.

@BBCPolitics@bbclaurak@BBCTwo ‘Inspection only touches a small proportion of people in a school, particularly the most senior people’ - seriously? @Ofstednews@bbclaurak This shows how out of touch Amanda Spielman is. Ofsted inspections ‘touch’ every single member of staff. Constantly.
@bbclaurak An Ofsted inspection affects everyone in a primary school- you are out of touch Amanda Spielman! Even schools getting ‘good’s and ‘outstanding’ it is a very stressful situation for staff and pupils alike.
‘Inspections are in the best interests of children’
Not if great teachers and leaders end up leaving teaching as a result. Which they do. One of thee most damaging things for any child is losing the presence and potential of a brilliant teacher in their life.
@FloraSCooper I’ve gone through Ofsteds where the lead inspector tries to trip you up or catch you out- why? Staff are already stressed and tired trying to do their best for their school. How is this best for children? Surely stressed teachers = stressed children?
Ofsted has been deluged with 5,000 emails praising schools since @GavinWilliamson told parents to contact the watchdog with complaints

@PaulMor19200615 @LBC @ianpaynesport No they were already moderated before they submitted them, following DfE guidance. So I’m not saying that at all. It is very easy for those not in education to not realise these things. But these things are heavily scrutinised. Ask any secondary teacher.
