@SubduedRadical I’ve made no claims as to his greatness or otherwise. I just think it’s funny to categorise an arch-capitalist who holds a couple of mildly progressive positions as a leftist.
@souljagoyteller They focus on colour stories, which humanises what can be dry material for a lot of people. And I suspect a lot of people go for the Oxbridge accents, too. Personally, I find their ra-ra England approach gets a little grating.
@CeruleaArachnus@gregthesorcerer Guilhem Desq is another incredible player, although often very non-traditional. But ‘Cicatrices’ redefines the instrument for the modern age.
@ElopezBqto1133@dieworkwear Incredible ignorance: one of the posts above is literally about Vietnamese revolutionary music and features a song released in 1981.
@souljagoyteller Surprised no one has mentioned Neuromancer by William Gibson. Not super long, it does have sequels, but stands beautifully alone, and the language is unsettling and austere.
@SouthDallasFood@TinekeYounger01 I do love that she's not using expensive cheese. Half the recipes I see use lots of gruyere. Those taste delicious, obviously, but that's very expensive where I live. It's hard for mac and cheese to be a comfort food when making it is half my food budget for the week!
