@robkhenderson It doesn‘t work like that.
1. You will only remember the good things and e.g. not how tired you were.
2. You will not remember any particular catch session of you had many.
3. It gets more complicated if it‘s spending time with friends vs. spending time with your kids.
@mmjukic Aliens make us realize that we have more in common with each other. You suddenly feel part of humanity as a group rather than your nation, race or whatever.
@LocasaleLab If you actually read the article he shared, it just amounts to „ultra-processed food is junk because it contains junk, not because it‘s called ultra-processed“.
@MoreBirths During the time of socialism, which they hate so much and regard as an occupation by Russia, their population increased from 24M to 38M, by more than 50%.
@mmjukic The globally declining birthrates are also a symptom of this global monoculture. The world has become less resilient without cultural competition.
@MoreBirths Faramir is talking about Númenoreans there, not Elves. The sentence left out reads:
"Death was ever present, because the Númenoreans still, as they had in their old kingdom, and so
lost it, hungered after endless life unchanging."
They wanted immortality over children.
@benlandautaylor Are you familiar with selectorate theory (from "The Dictator's Handbook") and what do you think about it? Seems like a competing theory to Samo's Great Founder Theory.
@star_stufff This once again shows the exorbitant arrogance of high-energy physicists, who think that their branch of physics is the only physics there is.
