@engineers_feed That sir is not a glider. That is a fully thrust capable aircraft.

Air-plane: Uses a motor or engine to create thrust. It can fly forward and climb using fuel or battery power.
Glider: Has no engine for normal flight. It stays up by converting altitude into speed for updrafts.

Structure Fire update: 200 block of Nance Rd. 30 Charlotte firefighters quickly control fire. There are no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The fire is under investigation by the Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force.

@airmainengineer Let's be honest, it had hair dryers under the wings. I wouldn't say "iconic", but "unmistakable " is appropriate. The 707 was iconic. I don't think passengers will miss it, and I know maintainers will celebrate. It had a drinking problem too.

✈️ One of the craziest landings I’ve ever seen
The aircraft fights its way towards the runway in strong crosswinds, touching down on the right main gear first, then the left. The landing doesn’t look right, and the crew immediately decides to go around.

Then, just after liftoff, another powerful gust hits the aircraft, pushing it sideways and making it turn. That’s just how unpredictable strong winds can be around an airport. One second you’re landing, the next you’re climbing away and fighting to keep the aircraft under control.

@wxbrad That's Richmond Kansas....or Texas....or Illinois....or Wisconsin this year! Why don't we get many more storms like this closer to Charlotte? It seems we will start, but what is changing that gives us these increased CAPE days?
