@DodgersMemeTeam The number of cheap seats at Dodger Stadium is one of its greatest assets. It's the last of a dying breed of ballparks designed with plentiful cheap seats, as opposed to all the small modern parks that price out the majority of the fanbase.
@KushPatil_ Both are simply predicting inflation, no? The bond market is reflecting long-run inflation expectations of ~5% a year - if real, deflationary economic pain set in then we'd see yields cratering. The stock market recognizes this, so USD-denomiated equity values are holding strong.
@ethanagarwal Price. Sure, a base Model 3 outcompetes the vast majority of new cars on total cost of ownership, but a barebones base compact/subcompact that gets 30+ mpg is still going to win out by several grand over 5 years. The Model 3 is a far better car, but I'm cheap.
@akshuuux I do this, but I make a new playlist once every ~3 months where I carry over some of the songs from the old playlist and leave out the songs that feel stale.
@9Drove@BowTiedBull Agreed, however that "good price" is pretty elusive when homes are largely still priced for 2% mortgages. A correction - or at the very least a few more years of price stagnation - is needed before the math checks out.
@unusual_whales The better answer is that we just shouldn't have any federally subsidized student loans. Banks will gladly underwrite loans for degrees that make sense, and will refuse to underwrite loans for useless degrees.
@nepechri@Pucks01 This was objectvely the best MLB playoff format. It kept us all on the edge of our seats through August/September because there was always a tough battle for the one wild card spot. It was like having an extra two months of playoffs during the regular season.
@LinkofSunshine The core issue is that the criminalization of hard drugs effectively acted as a check on street encampments. Without street encampments explicitly criminalized, the decriminalization of hard drugs allowed public spaces to become open-air homeless shelters.
@chiproytx This is an unthreadable needle. The second the incumbent party needs to run on excuses like "We could have done better but..." then you've already lost. Results are all that actually matter.
@dandinohill I agree that the dems are absolutely still worse, but how exactly do we motivate change within the Republican party if we willingly vote for objectively bad candidates? They'll just run again in 2028 if they continue to win. How do we send a message?
@chiproytx As a principled conservative, I legitimately want a dem sweep in the midterms. If that's what it takes for the Republican party to wake up and turn back towards actual fiscal conservatism and limited gov't then we're better off if it happens now rather than in 2028.
@TomerAzarly Call me crazy, but I don't blame Kawhi. If he asked for shady deals then it was on Ballmer to shut it down and pursue a different star. The buck stops with him, and he clearly failed to operate a clean organization.
@paulg It's a red herring. The real problem (at least in California) is ballot harvesting. Political operatives shouldn't be able to collect thousands of day-of votes simply by hitting every freeway overpass tent city.
@texasrunnerDFW The failure of the past few years isn't the fact that they hiked rates - it was that they didn't hike them high enough and long enough to have a meaningful impact. We needed a Volcker shock, not a soft landing.
