@Smirkley To put this into the context of the UK, our government spending as percentage of GDP is 44.8%, higher than the EU average of 49.4% and higher than the EU big economies. Is it any surprise services are better elsewhere.
@infantserbian Has Russia never heard of self determination. It is up to the people of Ukraine to decide which alliances they wish to be part of. Russia just need to butt out.
@NJBeisner Your not. Europe is finding Ukraine $3 for every $1 from the US and the bulk of this spent with the US defence industry. NET the US is in the black.
@SteveCortes All it needs is Trump to stand up to Putin and tell him to stop attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Till then Zelensky is free to attack Russian energy infrastructure. If this hit diesel prices, so be it. We just need a President with a backbone.
@JohnCleese Europe needs to have a words with Belgium. There are $210 BILLION of Russian assets frozen in a Belgium Bank. These csn be given to Ukraine at zero codt to European nations.
@OccupyDemocrats What's clear is that Trump is stepping up his pro Russia actions the more likely it seens he'll be a lame duck president come January. Putin has ordered him to do as much damage as he can before then, and Donny has replied Yes Sir like any good sub.
@TheIndexMint So nothing much has changed in 26 years apart from a brief period after the banking crash where France overtook the UK, Not a surprise given how dominated our economy is by its service sector.
@OlenaRohoza 300,000 tons is 114 minutes of supply, 0.25%. It will do nothing for the World market. The only beneficiary will me Moscow thst will ecebtuwlly get $3billion towards its war finances. Tell me Trump isn't a traitor abd should be facing a firing squad
@Artemisfornow It didn't need 17.2M, the leave vote won by just over 1.25M (7.3%, just under 1 in 14). There were nearly 3 times thr number of pro leave postings during the referendum, and academic research shows this dominance could have swung 3M voted and it only need a 1/5 of this.
@griffitha Where do you suggest Welfare. Yes total spending has risen faster than inflation. But spending on benefits not paid to pensioner has fallen. The rise is down to increased pensioner numbers and the higher pensions. To cut welfare we need to stop paying pensioners
@HankDesmondPhD Don't be ridiculous. The US uses 600,000 tons of diesel a day. 300,000 = 12hrs, about 1.5%. Trump needs to grow a backbone and stand up to Putin. Ukraine offered to stop attacking refineries if Russis stopped attacking electricity infrastructure. Putin refused.
@AndrewMM1964@electionmapsuk@Moreincommon_ Membership and Support are not linked. You csn equally be a small party with high support (i.e. the LibDems) and large with low support. The difference party membership gives is in campaigning and how willing those members are to door step for the party.
@electionmapsuk@Moreincommon_ Unfortunately MIC don't publish the more detailed breakdown. But its likely the +3% for Reform came from Conservative & Restore. But as Green, LibDem, and SNP drops add up to twice Labour gain its likely a lot of there drops are noise (bar Greens)
@beanyboy2802@Essex_Patriot Its not about comparing economies, its about how much better the UK economy performs inside the EU, as compared, as we have found out, the failure that is Brexit
@beanyboy2802@Essex_Patriot However since leaving the EU we have lost unrestricted access to these growing economies and as a result the UK economy has suffered and growth has been significantly lower.
@beanyboy2802@Essex_Patriot This is why the UK economy generally grew above the EU average, unlike the other large economies that generally grew at or more likely below the EU average.
@beanyboy2802@Essex_Patriot The UK is, unlike France, Germany etc largely a service economy. These smaller economies did not have the developed services they needed to grow and with unrestricted access to their economies as an EU members the UK was only too happy to provide these services
@beanyboy2802@Essex_Patriot We have always done better than the other large economies, as we were better places to take advantage of the growth in these smaller economies.
The reason is why the UK was always one of the most supportive of new members.
@electionmapsuk@YouGov The surprise is this is YouGov that have basically had Labour & Reform equal on 24/25%. If this is seen in other polls? We'll see Labour on 30% with an 8/9% lead
