All happiness is rooted in good science --Charaka Samhita (4th century BCE)
personal account; usual disclaimers apply.
@GMSasu@nxt888 “Almost all tribes try to dominate and build empires if possible” is the most fundamental lie that has lead to global suffering. It has caused the annihilation of several indigenous people who didn’t realise they were facing an adversary for whom domination itself was the goal.
One of the primary markers for the impact of a given technology is how humanity associates with it at a psychological level. So how is humanity associating with AI? I explain more in this article: https://t.co/uLIRK1jrwp
Comments welcome!
#AI#psychology
It is not that AI would create "financial systems" that we cannot understand-- it will create much more fundamental psychological systems that make us think we are taking free-willed decisions, and be completely oblivious to how we are controlled.
How a civilisational nation can be destroyed without defeating its army!
Critical lesson for Indians in these times from Douglas Kruger, who uses Poland in this case study:
Genuine question: How did Euclid prove the infinitude of prime numbers more than 2000 years ago when there was no decimal system then?
The proof uses concepts like prime factors and factorials that is practically infeasible to develop with something like a Roman numeral system.
@Fintech03 Prof. Mahabala's lectures on UGC's "countrywide classroom" beamed during the Doordarshan days in the '80s were one of the primary motivators for me to take up computer science.
Truly the Bhishma Pitamah of CS education in India!
@mariawirth1 Seriously deranged.
Every human who is not bogged down by having to be "useful" to someone is a potentially liberated human who can exercise agency and creativity.
Silk Board has a flyover, double-decker infrastructure, Metro, wide roads and robust bus connectivity.
So, what’s happening here now? 🤔
With all this infrastructure, why does the chaos continue?

What is the difference between being chased by a lion and being chased by an AI drone?

Had an "interview" for a blockchain project last week.
Camera was on, we're chatting, and the guy tells me to clone a GitHub repo and run it locally before we go further into the technical round.
I said sure, but first can you do me a favor
hold up 3 fingers in front of your face for me real quick.
He froze.
Didn't move.
Just sat there for a few seconds before the call cut off and he blocked me.
That's when I knew. A real interviewer doesn't glitch out over a random ask like that. A deepfake/AI overlay does.
These "run this repo" scams are getting scary common in crypto and dev hiring right now.
The setup is always the same:
- flattering DM
- real-sounding project
- rushed timeline
- a "quick step" before the call
that's really just remote access or a credential stealer in disguise.
If someone wants you to run code or install something before you've even had a real conversation, that's the whole scam.
Trust the instinct. Stay safe out there.
One of the rarest sights in Indian Railways: an electric locomotive-hauled train running without overhead electric wires!
This unusual operation is currently seen on two routes in India, the Ramanathapuram–Rameshwaram section in Tamil Nadu and the Mysuru–Chamarajanagar section in Karnataka.
But why is a small portion of these otherwise electrified routes still without overhead wires, while electric locomotives continue to operate on them? The core reason is airports and aviation operations.
On the Ramanathapuram–Rameshwaram route, the railway line passes close to a Naval air base, while on the Mysuru–Chamarajanagar route, it runs near Mysuru Airport. During electrification, concerns were raised about overhead equipment in the vicinity of active runways and its potential impact on flight operations.
As a result, while most of both routes were electrified, these small sections were left without overhead electric supply.
But Indian Railways still wanted to operate electric locomotives on the routes. So, a rather unusual solution is used: trains accelerate to their permissible speed before entering the non-electrified section and then roll through it using their momentum before reaching the electrified section again.
It sounds like a hack, but this is an actual operational practice, making it one of the most unusual electric-train operations you can spot in Indian Railways.
And yes, there have even been instances on these sections where a train reportedly got stuck after losing momentum in the non-electrified zone! :)
