What are the primary research and theory-based arguments that you are aware of that support the use of learning technologies? #6010a3
The use of scientific process via empiricism is one theory-based argument that is an established use which supports scientific learning tech.
#6010a3@TDavisUNT There are some learning theories that can be applied to different areas of education along with specific subject areas that are significant to support arguments. We pick what we agree with in that time and for that specific subject.
I think all learning theories can be applied to support learning technology. I often use the zone of proximal development and social constructivist to support my argument for the use of educational technology. Mostly for the affordances it offers in communication. #6010a3

What are our best explanations for why and how people learn as human actions? #6010a1
Some explanations are based on theoretical observations, relying heavily on theoretical constructs such as rationalism and empiricism to explain how people come to know. Some are anecdotal.
#6010a2 Yes, we are still an interpersonal species that are adapted to close contact. Distant communication and technology intends many times to bring us close together but there is still a line that this type of communication cannot cross.
@constatively Our brains are still wired for close conversations. Learning technology can lead to a need to process extraneous information on the part of the learner which bogs down the instruction. Taking advantage of the theories behind technology use can lead to positive results. #6010a2

@constatively Impact does not really indicate a positive or negative relationship. While I believe that technology can definitely add distraction to our lives, there are measurable benefits to using technology particularly with language learning. #6010a2 https://t.co/rOMui4fj6e
@constatively#6010a2 Yes, the choice of technology we utilize for learning and communication does impact the message we are trying to convey. Take recorded lectures that enable students to go at their own pace versus direct lecture- those differences can influence differentiated instriction.
@constatively #6010 I find it helpful most of the time. I also have The Office or other dry humor comedy that I don't have to follow specifically but can get a chuckle from every now and then.
@STEAMeducation Check out my classroom on @DonorsChoose! I have two STEAM - Oriented projects currently live. I'd love your help to spread the word! https://t.co/0M3lDEkByI
