everyone regurgitating this nonsense of “data licensing is the new dropshipping”
dropshipping worked cause most ppl didn’t care who sold the product
on the contrary, the end buyers here do…a lot lol
@varunkundra your last point about finding the right verticals is the entire game for smaller players imo
nobody’s gonna outcompete the scale or mercors for enterprise deals
but there are millions of SMBs in the US alone sitting on years of operational data - just up to you to do the work
biggest issue with data brokering rn is the number of middleman between you and the frontier labs
scale/mercor/handshake/micro1 all acting as an end buyer when in reality they’re just another layer where you’re losing $$ before it gets to the labs
if you’re building in this space and want to go direct to labs, shoot me a message
Fastest ways for 0->$10M in revenue:
- Token launchpads
- Selling data/RL env to AI labs
- Brokering pre-IPO SPVs
- Brokering GPU compute
Doesn't mean these are venture scale businesses. Lindyness is way more important.
@lolhefe might be a bit late on this but no broker will do a non-consignment deal (from my experience)
ideal structure companies should look for is a hybrid model where you get a total quote with an upfront amount + rev share that backpays the rest
i hope people know that others can spot a vibe coded company site instantly these days
generally reflects very poorly as well - little effort goes a long way
