I wrote an overly long thing about how I feel about the Labour manifesto. I'm not a party activist in any capacity - this is just what I think as a voter who has to make a decision. You can read it or not, but either way, it's here https://t.co/evmsSG8NcX
@MIT_IO_@vivamjm@Helluvaguy69@BritainUnbound For sure, totally appreciate that the individual liberty granted by EU citizenship in respect of movement is clearly preferable to not having that. If we could rejoin without losing our currency, I'd be all in favour, but I think we should be very wary about losing our currency
@vivamjm@Helluvaguy69@MIT_IO_@BritainUnbound Can't speak to what the electorate would consider but I know that I wouldn't consider it worth it to lose control of monetary policy, or, more importantly as a small (in the sense of not-price-setting) open economy, to lose the buffer provided by exchange rates being free to move
@Helluvaguy69@vivamjm@MIT_IO_@BritainUnbound Rejoining isn't a good idea just because leaving was a bad idea. If the price of rejoining was losing monetary sovereignty, I think a lot of people would be opposed to the idea.
@rowlands7_jess I live in rural Dorset so not many 2g2g places available, so it is a real treat whenever I visit friends in London that I get to use 2g2g for every meal
@full_legal_name Chef, though he does get back together with his wife at the end of the film so may accidentally suggest you think that's on the cards. Otherwise very much a feel-good
As we prepare for Shavuot, celebrating the ancient wheat harvest in Israel, I am thrilled to reveal the cover of my upcoming book, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐉𝐞𝐰𝐬: 𝐀𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞. Coming February 2025.
Chag Sameach.
Am Yisrael Chai.
@physiciantwelve@GladamRose@oomfitos I think part of the idea is that everyone has an interesting life and story, including the ones that the narrative only slightly touches
@crowb1kenobi @BarbieAgitprop Her point is that no one is going to go to a pub where the pints are being poured by someone they can't chat with, so this would lose revenue
Has a Conservative Government minister ever knocked on your door in Bournemouth East?
Great to have the Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury back again talking with people on their doorsteps.
As your Labour MP, I’d make sure that a Labour Government focuses on your needs.
@joshfunnell_ Tbf I hardly think this is a massively rude response though obviously it's a little short, but surely you just have a little laugh with whoever is running the board as you tell them you can probably put that voter down as a 0/10 and move on to the next one?
