@EmilAllie @Abhishek_Rai @tomfgoodwin That does indeed suck. Not quite Twitter-Files levels of corruption. But still. I feel ya.

[Nick Strada @strada]

@EmilAllie @Abhishek_Rai @tomfgoodwin Oh wow. Were you silenced or something? That sucks.

[Nick Strada @strada]

@swells_ New shit has come to Light

[Nick Strada @strada]

@markpdx724 @doodlestein Using deep seek V1 flash? Why not GLM? I'm trying to do this too because I have a bunch of cameras from different manufacturers with incompatible cloud systems that I just want to run locally.

[Nick Strada @strada]

@Abhishek_Rai @tomfgoodwin Right, apart from free speech, Community Notes, video, secure DMs, Grok, long posts, creators getting paid, Spaces, and driving many of the most annoying people to Bluesky, what have the Romans ever done for us?

[Nick Strada @strada]

Just when you think @PalmerLuckey couldn't go any harder. It's the K-9 / Lattice singularity. Amazing.

Accept the cost of defiance and you are unoppressable.

@MarinSheriff @CHP_HQ Love our guys

[Nick Strada @strada]

@lateascent @grok TUI crushed this

[Nick Strada @strada]

Is there a term for supposedly premium experiences that aren't? Amex Lounges are an example. When anyone can get in, no one can get in.

[Nick Strada @strada]

@mcuban I just created a second brain in Obsidian. It stores marked down from all of my AI tools. Nothing starts from zero. I can move all of my work anywhere anytime. It's still a bit technical ordinary users, but that will be changed.

[Nick Strada @strada]

@tomfgoodwin @Roku To me the most interesting question is how many different industry economics are going to be upset by the growth of consumer agents. They don't look at ads and they allow us to do what we want to most of the things that we use. At least so far.

[Nick Strada @strada]

Hot take: Agents will make things easier, but more expensive. Mine just modded my Sony TV in 7 minutes. Nuked the adware and bloatware, and built a custom UI. All of which used to subsidized the price. At scale, we’ll pay the real cost for a good display. Probably for the best.

[Nick Strada @strada]

@tomfgoodwin Yeah, $20–40/year seems about right for most. High end of the stack (own OS + ads + data + placement) can push higher — Roku’s been around $40 ARPU. Over a 6–7 year replacement cycle that still adds up. @Roku anyone want to correct the math?

[Nick Strada @strada]

Closer to the high end of that range.
Omdia has estimated ~$5/quarter (~$20/year) per connected user in ad + data revenue. Over a typical 5-year life that’s ~$100. Higher-monetizing platforms (Roku, Vizio, Fire TV) have run closer to $30–45+ annual ARPU. That’s why many of these sets are sold at thin or negative hardware margins. the post-sale platform economics are the actual business. I'd happily pay more for a decent display without that crap. But now you don't have to

The software running on the Sony is a local copy of Gathin23/tv-vibehack (https://t.co/h5s6MamuLt). My @Meta muse agent pulls in my daughters grades and posts to a simple @cloudflare worker. These are amazing times.

[Nick Strada @strada]

I can confirm this is really easy. And really great. @grok cli/TUI just smoked this. Found the tv on the network, pulled the model, looked everythig up and walked me through a few remote control clicks. Boom.
Plus, now i can customize my living room tv into the home dashboard/radiator I've wanted.

[Ryan Doyle @doooyle]

Hacked my TV with Claude Code today

No more ads, bloatware, spyware or laggy UI

I also got a beautiful screensaver with my revenue, calendar, weather, and notifications for new Stripe payments

It was super easy! I sent it the listing for my tv, asked "can you hack this?" And it talked me through how

Fun fact, I got caught in a tornado in Rock Springs in 1995.
