@1goodtern The problem seems to be that the remit of the JCVI is to consider only the cost balance to the NHS between vaccinations and load due to admissions, not what is best for health at population level.

I think a more fundamental point with respect to Covid is that too many people in IPC have failed in the first requirement to correctly identify the hazard, namely an AIRBORNE pathogen, so they are unable to properly apply the important principle of the hierarchy of
