This is the message we received from FMGs in Tamil Nadu and honestly, it shattered my heart 💔.
This is the reality of FMGs in India… even after clearing one of the toughest exams in the country, FMGE.
On one side, NMC officials proudly meet foreign delegates, sign MoUs, and promote MBBS abroad to “strengthen bilateral relations.”
But on the other side, the same NMC is unable to ensure that State Medical Councils follow its own rules.
How is this fair?
FMGs are suffering everywhere:
• Many states are not giving internship seats, even when seats are lying vacant.
• In some states, the waiting time is 2 years two years of life wasted for no reason.
• Many FMGs who completed internship are still not getting permanent registration.
• Some states are forcing extra years of internship, openly violating NMC’s public notice.
• And in most states, FMGs are working without stipend, surviving on hope alone.
Is this what “reforming medical education” looks like?
@JPNadda ji, we request you to look into this.
@MoHFW_INDIA@NMC_BHARAT — these issues have been going on since COVID.
How long will FMGs keep suffering like this?
We are not asking for privilege.
We are not asking for shortcuts.
We are only asking for basic fairness.
Don’t punish FMGs for choosing MBBS abroad.
We only want to serve our country, support our parents, and build a dignified life.

Maharashtra’s FMGs are stuck in a frustrating wait for internship starts, while most states have already begun!
We cleared FMGE, but delays in seat allocation are stalling our careers.
Months of uncertainty risk our eligibility for NEET-PG 2026, leaving dreams in limbo. The National Medical Commission and state authorities must act swiftly to ensure timely internship allotments. Other states are moving forward—why is Maharashtra lagging?
FMGs deserve clarity and fairness, not endless delays. We’re calling on @NMC_BHARAT and @CMOMaharashtra to prioritize this issue and release schedules NOW. Our future as doctors hangs in the balance!

Until when foreign medical graduates will be treated like second class citizens ?
Almost 4 months since we gave FMGE jan exam, and still no schedule has been received DMC regarding Internship counselling .
@DalmiyaDr Sir Till when we can expect the first merit list of Delhi Medical Council of available 40 seats for the FMG’S INTERNSHIP?
And sir what about other seats?Till when we get to know about more seats?
Sir Delay in internship could affect our eligibility in next year NEETPG
Totally Dictatorship!
Studying abroad is already a significant challenge for #FMG students. Adding 2-3 years of extra internship undermines the purpose of the FMG Exam.
This situation of covid should be looked at with compassion for children studying abroad

The irregularities in NEET and with foreign medical graduates over the years have now reached an extreme point. We hope that the third term of @narendramodi will bring an end to the tremendous problems faced by medical students, especially those created by @NMC_IND.
@jayantrld
During COVID, all medical students faced online classes. Yet, @NMC_IND singles out FMGs for harsh treatment. War is beyond our control, & we're back in Ukraine struggling every day. @MoHFW_IND, #StopHarassingFMGs! These rules are mentally torturing us. We deserve fair treatment!
Lost all hopes from Medical commission!
Everything is Sold, No credibility for their own rules & notices, confusion only, suppression & partiality towards FMGs.
God bless this healthcare system 🙏🏼

Dear @NMC_IND Your new order is not just unfair, this is causing mental trauma to #FMG#Doctors, End this systematic discrimination against #FMGs & revoke the order now.If any unfortunate incident happens to any doctor🧑⚕️#NMC chairperson will be held accountable for that.

"Life of Indian Citizens can't be put at stake by poorly trained Medical Professionals" - This is the worst statement given by @NMC_IND for FMGs.
Isn't NMC aware about how may of the medical colleges in India are working without 50% faculty?
Smt. Aruna V. Vanikar from
Ahmedabad, Gujarat, must apologise for her statements on FMGs curriculum at abroad. @NMC_IND have listed the college's to study in abroad. Even after passing FMGE in india. NMC harrassing FMGs with 10 yrs (2-3yrs) duration degree.

Urgent : Call for Equitable Treatment of Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs)
The latest directive from #UGMEB@NMC_IND represents a severe blow to thousands of Foreign Medical Graduates #FMGs .This is a matter of urgent concern that threatens to dismantle the hard-earned careers of many dedicated individuals.
In response to the UGMEB’s recent circular (No. U.15024/01/2022-UGMEB dated 9th May 2023) and the public notice issued on December 7th, 2023, we seek to address the implications of the new guidelines for Foreign Medical Graduates #FMGs .
Key Points of Concern:
1.Rejection of Blended Learning Certificates:
•The UGMEB’s decision to reject certificates from FMGs who completed online theory classes supplemented with offline practical training, as mentioned in clause (x) of point 3 of the circular, overlooks the legitimacy and necessity of such educational arrangements during unprecedented times.
•We believe that this measure does not adequately reflect the reality faced by many FMGs, who had no option but to adapt to online learning modes due to global disruptions, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. This adaptation was not only lawful but essential to ensure continuity in their education.
2.Extended Internship Requirements:
•The requirement for FMGs to undergo a Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) for a period of two to three years (repeating a 12-month schedule) is disproportionately burdensome. This far exceeds the standard internship duration and imposes an excessive delay on the professional progression of FMGs.
•This policy appears to be inconsistent with the principle of proportionality and fairness, as it places an undue hardship on FMGs compared to their counterparts who completed their education within India under similar conditions.
Legal and Ethical Considerations:
•Equality and Non-Discrimination: According to Article 14 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees equality before the law, FMGs should be treated equitably and without discrimination. The UGMEB’s stance on rejecting valid blended learning certificates and extending internship periods disproportionately affects FMGs.
•Legitimacy of Blended Learning: Educational institutions worldwide have adopted online learning during emergencies. Dismissing this mode of education without substantial grounds undermines the adaptive efforts made by FMGs and their institutions under extraordinary circumstances.
•Right to Profession: Article 19(1)(g) of the Indian Constitution provides the right to practice any profession. By imposing unreasonable barriers on FMGs, their ability to practice their chosen profession in a timely manner is being hindered, which could be seen as a violation of their rights.
Call for Fairness and Dialogue:
We urge the UGMEB @NMC_IND to reconsider and amend these guidelines to:
•Acknowledge Blended Learning: Recognize the validity of online theory classes supplemented with offline practical training for FMGs, as long as they meet the educational standards required.
•Reevaluate Internship Duration: Align the CRMI duration for FMGs with the standard internship period to ensure fair and equitable treatment.
•Engage in Dialogue: Establish a platform for constructive dialogue with #FMGs representatives to address their concerns and find mutually beneficial solutions.
Let’s Work Together for a Just and Equitable Medical Education System.
We believe that with collaborative efforts, we can create policies that reflect fairness, inclusivity, and respect for the diverse paths taken by medical graduates.

@AllIndiaFMGs
NMC has released new rules for FMGs making it compulsory to do 2-3 years of internship as per an old circular regulations .
MBBS Normal Duration: 5- 5.5 Years
MBBS normal duration for FMGs who studied online = 6+3 years of internship + 1-2 year of cracking FMG exam = 10 years
With this rule MBBS degree for FMGs should be considered in “Guinness book of records” for the longest duration degree in the world
If NMC has issues with FMGs they should clarify and stop Medical students from studying abroad
If this is not discrimination against FMGs then I don’t know what is !
If @NMC_IND has concerns about FMGs, they should provide clear explanations and possibly reconsider allowing medical students to pursue education abroad. The extended duration for FMGs to complete their MBBS degree, including internships and exams, does indeed make it one ,1n
