Robin Kelly has stood by SDAIL and the students of Illinois every day that she has been in Congress.
In the Senate she will continue to be that tireless leader for gun violence prevention an we could not be more happy that she has received the Gun Sense Candidate Distinction.
I’m honored to be recognized by @MomsDemand as a Gun Sense Candidate. Keeping our families, schools and communities safe is a shared responsibility. I’ve prioritized ending gun violence since entering Congress in 2013 and I will continue that work as Illinois’ next U.S. Senator. #endgunviolence #gunsensecandidate
Every day in America, 125 people are killed with a gun, perpetuating a cycle of senseless violence in our country. As a proud member of SAFER — a group of legislators nationwide dedicated to reducing gun violence — today I #WearOrange in our united call to end gun violence.
The decision of whether to run for re-election has not been easy. I truly love the job of being a United States Senator.
But in my heart, I know it’s time to pass the torch.
So, I am announcing today that I will not be seeking re-election at the end of my term.

"Americans want to go to their neighborhood grocery store and not have to worry about some random guy open-carrying an AR-15."
At the #DNC, Gov. @JBPritzker reminds us that the majority of Americans demand a future free from gun extremism—and we're ready to vote for that future on November 5th.
Firearms should never be in the hands of domestic abusers. Time for us to pass Karina's Law in Illinois to make sure weapons are removed from dangerous people.
