Studio La Gazelle is stopping work on @Spatial_io.
After years of building virtual environments on the platform, we are discontinuing further development.
In October, we formally requested removal of all our templates. A final deadline passed. Our environments remain active.
Last August, we previewed Genie 3: a general-purpose world model that turns a single text prompt into a dynamic, interactive environment. Since then, trusted testers have taken it further than we ever imagined โ experimenting, exploring, and pioneering entirely new interactive worlds. Now, itโs your turn.
Starting today, we're rolling out access to Project Genie for Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S. (18+). We know what you create will be out of this world ๐

Spatial has consistently failed to respect and encourage creators and, on the contrary, has disregarded those who helped build its ecosystem. Platforms rise and fall; the work of builders continues. @Netflix has acquired @ReadyPlayerMe and will shut down its public tools on Jan 31, 2026.
It seems platforms like @Spatial_io likely need to integrate a new third-party provider or revert to a proprietary system in a short time.
How do you see this playing out?
@Thorium_Labs@netflix@readyplayerme@Spatial_io Exactly. Beyond the mesh swap, there's the anthropometry to consider. From a design perspective, environments might need to be recalibrated to keep the experience functional if proportions change.
