🚨 Serious Environmental Violation at YMS (Yele Mallappa Shetty) Lake 🚨
@ArshadRizwan@GBAChiefComm@NsBoseraju Once again, a huge quantity of construction debris has been dumped behind Mayuri Bakery,
<Location:https://t.co/13XhW59c84>
right inside the buffer zone of YMS Lake. The speed and scale at which debris is being dumped clearly indicates land filling activity, raising a serious suspicion that another illegal building is being prepared behind the lake.
The Minor Irrigation Department is turning a blind eye to this blatant violation. Their inaction is directly responsible for the current pathetic condition of Yele Mallappa Shetty Lake.
This is not negligence anymore — it is systemic failure and silent approval of environmental crime.
Dumping debris in a lake area:
Violates NGT orders
Destroys natural drainage & groundwater recharge
Leads to flooding and permanent loss of water bodies.
Is a punishable offence
❓ Why is no action being taken?
❓ Who is permitting trucks to dump debris repeatedly?
❓ Why is the responsible department not stopping this crime in real time?
If immediate action is not taken, this lake will soon exist only on paper, just like many others lost to encroachment.
⚠️ Urgent demand:
Immediate stoppage of debris dumping
Identification and penal action against violators
Accountability from the Minor Irrigation Department
Restoration of the damaged lake area
Save YMS Lake before it’s too late.
Reality on ground at the Yele Mallappa Shetty lake (photo evidence attached):
✔️ Cleaning is happening only at the periphery
✔️ Progress is painfully slow with no visible urgency
✔️ No clarity on how de-weeding inside the lake will be done – JCB access? Manual? Any plan at all?
✔️ Tons of hyacinth removed and dumped on the edge, left to rot, risking re-entry into the lake
✔️ Shockingly, a 2-wheeler found during de-weeding – shows
how long dumping and negligence have gone unchecked 😐
This is cosmetic cleanup, not lake rejuvenation.
Peripheral clearing alone does nothing to:
❌ Stop mosquito breeding
❌ Improve water quality
❌ Restore lake ecology
❌ Prevent garbage inflow
If there is no time-bound plan, no mechanised approach, no accountability, this exercise will end up as no result.
We may have to ask Questions authorities :
What is the complete de-weeding strategy for inside the lake?
Why is work progressing at such a slow pace?
Where is the removed weed being disposed?
What is the deadline for full restoration?
Garbage dumping, burning near Yele Mallappa Shetty Lake continuing, its not just environmental damage — it’s a public health emergency.
Burning waste releases toxic gases, causes severe air pollution, and makes life miserable for families living around the lake.
Children, elderly, and residents are being forced to breathe poison every day.
Who will be held accountable — @GBA_office or officials looking the other way?
Stop dumping. Clear the waste. Protect people and the lake — immediately.

@GBA_office Serious garbage dumping is happening on the service road near Yele Malapa Shetty Lake, and now people have also started burning the garbage, which can cause major health issues for residents. The earlier warning banner for fines has been removed,

In the Dubai crash, Wg Cdr Namansh Syal had barely 2 seconds when Tejas dropped into a deadly descent.
Yet look at what he did —
• levelled the wings,
• pulled the nose away from the viewing area,
• fought the sink rate till the last heartbeat,
• tried to drag the jet clear of people on the ground.
These aren’t reflexes.
They’re instinct, training… and raw courage.
India didn’t just lose a pilot —
we gained a hero. 🇮🇳✈️
