This year we had minister @sarbanandsonwal addressing us online and HE Thiru @rajendraarlekar, Governor of TN presiding over the valedictory session. On the first puṇyasmaraṇe of Dr. S. L. Bhyrappa, I would like to announce my humble attempt at spreading the love of reading his works.

I'll be starting the SLB Edition of Saṃvācana, a book club I have been running since 2016.

For a Kannadiga, reading Bhyrappa in translation can feel strange. His language is earthy, precise and deeply rooted in Kannada life. Yet his knack of storytelling is universal and translators too have carried his work far beyond Kannada. 19 novels now have English translations.

This year, we begin with the best seller Aavarana translated by @dharmadispatch , Niraakarana (L.V. Shanthakumari & Arjun Bharadwaj) & Uttarakaanda (Rashmi Terdal).

I welcome readers, Kannada readers as guides, translators, scholars, reviewers and volunteers to be part of this journey. Will share full details soon.
