@kleib323@ForgottenNY@Streetfilms I wasn’t actually sure if he was including himself in the “disgusted” group. I mean I love his website & in-depth history of so many spots, but he of all people knows that streets, places, and uses change over time!
@ForgottenNY@Streetfilms If people disgusted w/ it just from headlines, I encourage them to try it out! All these things are very much open to all. Might take a few visits, and maybe they’ll find constructive suggestions for tweaking. But overall, cities worldwide are shifting to bike/ped infrastructure.
This misaligned jersey barrier needs fixing b4 some #bikenyc rider is hurt. Been like this for months, maybe even years? Missing a solid foot of safety. Not sure if anyone else reported to @NYC_DOT, but @nyc311 I'd love the help doing so now since this pic was this weekend.
@NYPD71Pct any update from @NYPDnews on this? Box truck on residential street, unmoved for over a week, no plates, no registration, and has damaged a @NYCParks tree. Same truck has done this on this block before too.
Really annoying when a commercial vehicle that consistently parks illegally on a residential street ALSO takes down entire branches. Sorry @TreesNewYork.
Eager to hear from @nypd71pct. This truck has no plates or registration on Lincoln Road just west of Nostrand. It’s been in the vicinity on and off again for the last year.
Is there legislation already mandating trees on private property do not block @NYC_DOT pedestrian signals? If not, who will introduce it!? @CMRitaJoseph, this is at Rogers & Maple. @nyc311 is there a category for this already?
Viewing panels legally must be between 3 & 6 feet from the ground... but I've never seen one lower than 5 feet. If @NYC_Buildings incentivized some at the lower height, NYC kids would be delighted. @AhmedTigani54@NYCMayor https://t.co/itugLVGqEX
@eanorv@prospect_park@BetterBedfordAv@NYC_DOT@Bklyn_CB9@StreetsblogNYC Well technically the empire blvd bike lane connects to East NY Ave which gets you close-ish. But with this being the condition of that lane, it’s not quite highlight reel worthy, yet. East NY Ave could use a big upgrade. It’s a truck/#bikenyc route w/ zero protection.
@PeterMoskos When a cyclist is hit, it is FDNY’s EMS service coming to help them. So why would it only be the job to help after injury & not support prevention? FDNY supports smoke detectors, not just fighting a fire after smoke. Right?
@nick_benson@NYC_DOT@Estarkmiller@amNewYork Thank you! These are great. I hope one day every neighborhood has them so truck traffic is vastly reduced everywhere. Can CBs request locations too or is the survey just for businesses? If so, @Bklyn_CB9 we should be partners with DOT on this. Flatbush is ripe for it, no?
I couldn’t attend the TA gala but did watch a bunch of harassment videos by the protesters outside. @bfurnas deserves a medal for composure & endless respect for staying focused on the bigger picture - truly safer streets for all. Keep up the great work Ben.
@CincinnatiNews_ Yes! You’re right! In that split second it was! Northbound traffic lane of Bedford was also empty! Amazing how things can move into and out of spaces, right?!
