The National Family Health Survey-6 of @MoHFW_INDIA is used for policy and planning. It should be celebrated for remarkable success in achieving Institutional deliveries above 95%.
While we got mothers in hospitals, they fail to support breastfeeding.
-Only 1 in 2 mothers begin to breastfeed within an hour. In 16 States/UTs it has shown decline or stayed the same.
-Exclusive breastfeeding: in 22 States/UTs it has declined or stayed same.
-in 8 States both early and exclusive have declined. (Highlighted) State and UTs of Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Maharashtra, Odisha, Delhi , J&K, Uttarakhand. This is an opportunity gap.
It can be bridged. @bpniindia is happy to support any State.
