I am pleased to share that my 8th article has been officially published. This study examines the effectiveness of integrated Food–Water–Energy (FWE) adaptation bundles in strengthening household and community resilience within the Lake Victoria Basin. The findings highlight the critical role of nexus-based, integrated approaches in addressing interconnected challenges of food security, water access, and energy reliability—offering practical insights for sustainable development and climate adaptation.
This publication marks another important milestone in my academic journey, and I remain grateful for the continuous research and impact along the way.

GoK looking for more funds to finance its budget? Look no further than the budget itself!
One-third of the Ksh 4 trillion 2024/25 Budget will disappear in corruption, budgeted or not! This amount is more than double the amount of taxes to be raised in 2023/24 and 2024/25 Finance Bills that have been strongly opposed by Kenyans. But is it true? Check out:
https://t.co/TwV7HqGYWz February 2021, then president Uhuru Kenyatta stated that more than KSh2 billion was being stolen from the public purse every day. This amounted to nearly sh 700 billion, which was 1/3 of the Budget
https://t.co/aXB9b2NL8h 2020, BNN Bloomberg, a Canadian partner of US business channel Bloomberg, quoted Joseph Kinyua, then head of the public service, as estimating that “that one-third of the nation’s annual budget is lost to graft”.
3. In 2020: “The country loses about a third of the national budget through graft and corruption related activities” claimed a report by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre and state research agency Kenya Institute of Public Policy Research and Analysis on the post-Covid recovery.
https://t.co/5p5hPmdkEg 2018: The then Senator for Bungoma county, now Speaker, National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, said in the Senate that “according to statistics from the government itself … in every annual budget, one-third is lost to corruption through inflated procurement, outright theft, and misappropriation of funds”.
https://t.co/7BryIeojGx 2016: Philip Kinisu, then Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, repeated the claim in an interview with the global wire news agency Reuters. “Kenya’s budget is now approaching KSh2 trillion; a third of it is being wasted through corruption,”
https://t.co/y7EYuNH2RD 2010, then Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Joseph Kinyua, told a parliamentary committee that the government would lose KSh270 billion out of a KSh1 trillion budget to corruption.
https://t.co/nyOM7B1Kdm April 2003, he then minister for Planning and National development, Prof Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, said: “We know for certain that we have been losing about KSh68 billion through corruption and mismanagement. That is close to about a third of the national budget.”
