All those things you mentioned act as guardrails for the faithful. It tells you when you are getting to distracted and how to get back to Jesus.

Like the prosperity gospel wouldn’t happen in Catholicism, etc. you are losing the plot and need to refocus. Another example would be if you start thinking Christ has one nature you can see “Christ has two” and get back to the fullness of Christ
