Mr. Netanyahu, antisemitism is a vile and disgusting form of bigotry that has done unspeakable harm to millions.
Do not insult the intelligence of the American people by attempting to distract us from the immoral and illegal war policies of your extremist and racist government.
I know that most people in the west don't care about Hong Kong, but it has the highest COVID death rate, per people infected, in the world.
Our morgues are overflowing and there are only 300 coffins remaining in the city.
It's a disaster.
"2022 is only 75 days old, but already WHO has verified 89 attacks on health care around the world, in Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, DR Congo, Libya, Nigeria, the occupied Palestinian territory, Sudan, the Syrian Arab Republic, and of course, Ukraine."-@DrTedros
The tragedy of the COVID crises goes so far beyond all of those suffering in our ICUs and medical wards. It extends to all those at home waiting for necessary surgeries and medical treatments that are not happening because our hospitals are full.

Regardless of COVID-19 origins, we should treat zoonosis and lab escape as potential pandemic risks and set up structures to mitigate these risks. On the lab side, this includes review of biosafety protocols and strong "no fault" reporting of laboratory acquired infections. 8/8
1/Re. NACI’s recent communications. No one is saying to hide info from the public. What people are concerned about is the way that info is being conveyed (and to some extent, its accuracy). IMO, here is how they should have framed this:
Israel: Continuing to crush COVID-19
Since the mid-Jan. peak:
98% fewer cases (now 116 per day)
97% fewer critically ill (now 6 per day)
99% fewer deaths (now 2 per day)
Masks outdoors no longer required, and remaining restrictions can and should probably be lifted
A vaccine with minuscule, don’t even worry about it risk? Puh-leeze. This is GenX. We ate Pop Tarts for breakfast and got babysat after school by Y&R. We spent decades on oral birth control. And now we’re crashing all the pharmacy websites for that sweet, sweet AZ.
@lindy2350 Can only speak from Alberta - many camps have still not decided what they will do - very hard to make it completely safe if still high rates of transmission in the community.
@DFisman@anthonyfurey Can someone please study these “superspreaders” so we can identify what it is about them that results in so much transmission!! The first step to mitigation of risk is identifying the phenotype!!
@AntibioticDoc Agree - rate of thromboembolism does not seem to be higher than expected baseline rate in general population. I suspect this will be investigated and found not to be related to vaccine. My fear is that it will result in more vaccine hesitancy - not what we need right now!
