Completely agree.
The original promise was permissionless access and real utility for people left out of traditional systems, not increasingly sophisticated products mainly serving traders, LPs, and those already connected.
The winners you highlighted solve real problems, but they donโt solve the immediate ones for a freelancer in Accra receiving $200 or a small business owner in Tamale who just needs affordable, reliable settlement and a straightforward way to turn funds into something spendable.
Thatโs the gap weโre building for with @symlyt_app: hold, send, and receive stablecoins; buy and sell using local payment rails (including Mobile Money); and an AI assistant that handles the complexity so the experience stays simple.
Everyday money movement first.
When many of us first became interested in blockchain, the promise wasn't tokenized stocks, increasingly sophisticated trading strategies, or another lending protocol.
It was financial inclusion. Permissionless access. Giving people excluded from traditional financial systems the ability to participate in a global economy without needing permission from powerful intermediaries.
Yet much of the industry's attention now appears concentrated on building increasingly sophisticated financial infrastructure for people who are already financially connected.
Look at the three winners for the recent @arbitrum Open house, these aren't inherently bad projects. They solve legitimate financial and technical problems.
But ask yourself: Who is the immediate beneficiary?
Primarily traders, liquidity providers, market makers, issuers and financially sophisticated users.
A small business owner in Tamale, Ghana struggling to receive international payments isn't necessarily going to use a leveraged stock-token protocol.
A freelancer in Accra, Ghana trying to receive $200 from a foreign client probably doesn't need a sophisticated lending market.
They need affordable access to money, reliable settlement, a usable interface and a straightforward way to convert funds into something they can spend.
That's a very different problem.
Are blockchain ecosystems building financial freedom for people who have historically lacked it, or are they mostly creating new financial opportunities for people who already have capital?

โOur goal is to provide equitable access to the global payment system.โ

Pre seed founders should know which funds actually lead
here's part 1 of 20 funds that led or co led a pre seed round this year:
1. @streamlinedvc (@ullastweets) - Palo Alto, co-led Bodhium Labs' $3.5M round in Sep
2. @FlyVC (@mattwichrowski) - Berlin, co-led Tangent Robotics' $4.5M round in Sep
3. @SocialLeverage (@obermattj) - Scottsdale, co-led Elio Mortgage's $5.1M round in Sep
4. https://t.co/eHq5MCur0V (Mark Coffey) - Boston, led Ekai's $1.7M round in Sep
5. @heavybit (@josephruscio) - SF, led Antfly's $2M round in Sep
one lead is worth more than five soft yeses.
