@wesbos I’ve heard a lot of good opinions about @getunleash but I haven’t had a chance to try it in the production environment yet. It might be worth checking out 🙂
▲ @Vercel just launched the AI SDK.
You can now build AI-powered apps with streaming – starting with one simple command: `npm i ai`
Here are some examples👇
Tests often show that code works in an unrealistic, parallel universe. E.g. one where...
- Every dependency is mocked
- We can modify the service container at will
- We use Sqlite instead of Postgres
- We invoke the HTTP kernel directly
- We have data in our database somehow
@jwage Ah, almost forgot.. Binding volumes using NFS also worked quite well for me. I had file permission issues though that sometimes were quite scuffed… But in terms of performance it worked great.
@jwage I tested probably all configurations out there 😅 With docker sync and/or mutagen you’ll end up with synchronisation problems. Initially it worked fine for me, but eventually I ended up with debugging sessions that showed some files haven’t synced 😒
@jwage Finally though, I ended up with Symfony server and dockerized other auxiliary services. It has drawbacks, too, but finally the performance is not an issue anymore. The worst thing is PHP version management especially if the project has many infrastructure dependencies
@jwage If I wanted to use fully containerized application including the PHP image virtualization (VBox + Vagrant) and Docker installed on it worked the best taking into account high performance, but I reckon it’s obligatory to have the virtual machine setup automated in case it crashes.
A former CIA math genius built a quantitative trading fund that earned more than $100 BILLION for investors.
At 66% return/yr, his track record destroys that of Warren Buffet, George Soros, Carl Icahn, and every investor who ever lived.
The Smartest Billionaire in Finance:
I typically bill hourly. But, I just completed a *fixed bid* development project for the first time in 20+ years.
Result? It took me twice as many hours as I estimated. 🤦♂️
Estimating custom development is hard.
