The “expulsion” actually occured before polygamy was established. The movement of Latter-day Saints from Missouri and Illinois in the 1830s and 1840s occurred well before polygamy became established and were driven primarily by religious differences, economic competition, and political fears rather than plural marriage.

Obviously, the attacks failed because the church still exists and took a stronger hold in the American west and globally.

I got more siblings & now have almost 20 nieces & nephews. I also have a really good relationship with my husband because I knew better

Like she worries about your mind body and soul. She’ll change but her concern for you won’t as long as you’re concerned for her as well.

@MaryLuCallahan1 @TheCatholicEngr Marriage used to be a bit more about duty to one another & less to do with personal happiness, & fulfillment. This is what happened with my parents. It became about what they each wanted out of the marriage over what the marriage needed. Mostly my mom. They divorced in 2002.

@brady_macarthur @darthcaro Some people don’t do well with kids, and that’s okay. I personally would do okay in primary but it wouldn’t be something I’d be excited about. I homeschool my kids all week, & I’m so in need of adult interaction. I’d like to be with the adults or even youth for 1 hour a week.

@darthcaro I love my calling with the youth. But I do sometimes prefer GD & RS. I’m weird though. I used to beg my grandma to take me to GD class & RS over primary. I HATED primary as a kid. I loved & have always loved being around the older people, I learn so much from them!
