“I do not want to go to work to get spat at, punched or kicked. I don’t expect to be called a hero, but not being treated like a human being is a deal breaker.” @KariSampsel
The ED backstops the entire system...that's a heavy weight.
System = broken.

Shout 👏 this 👏 from 👏 the 👏 rooftops!
Emergency medicine’s scope creep into a safety net for every failing of healthcare and social services has gone too far. We are broken.
Kudos to the authors for this brave and bold article.

@GarethEeson @Royal_College Plenty of 2020 resident cohort want to leave RC after our exam fiasco, but you’re stuck needing a way to document CME. If you don’t have mainport, you’ll need to pay into another system to do the same thing. Can use CCFP platform but don’t save much $. 🙄
@EmilyWStewart @MarkSanderson_@DocMonfries@JamesPowellMD Have you guys ever tried this in practice? It looks so easy but I can’t really get it to work. Wonder if our beds are too soft, my fist just sinks into mattress.
More medical students ≠ more doctors. The limited reagent in the equation is available residencies. 31% of med students unmatched in 2019, 25% in 2020... how can that number possibly improve with this plan?

When we have no evidence, we rely on experience. And this is an excellent post by @emupdates on his hospital's amazingly challenging situation in NYC. For those of us not yet at the peak, we cant thank you enough for sharing your account. #covid19 https://t.co/9Bz9FhHT1D
