Looks like Nitin Gadkari's honeymoon is ending.
Across the country, complaints from car owners about reduced performance, lower mileage, and engine issues with E20 fuel have been mounting.
If the government is serious about addressing the problem, it should fast-track the availability of E10 petrol at fuel stations instead of forcing consumers to bear the consequences of higher ethanol blends.
Petrol adulteration has reached alarming levels. First came ethanol blending, and now it feels like fuel stations can mix whatever they want. Consumers have no transparency and no way of knowing how much ethanol is actually being blended by OMCs. This is a disgraceful situation for millions of vehicle owners.
@PetroleumMin, your ministry has failed to ensure transparency and accountability. Policies that create uncertainty for consumers while risking vehicle performance deserve serious scrutiny. The people of India deserve better than this.
Software horror: litellm PyPI supply chain attack.
Simple `pip install litellm` was enough to exfiltrate SSH keys, AWS/GCP/Azure creds, Kubernetes configs, git credentials, env vars (all your API keys), shell history, crypto wallets, SSL private keys, CI/CD secrets, database passwords.
LiteLLM itself has 97 million downloads per month which is already terrible, but much worse, the contagion spreads to any project that depends on litellm. For example, if you did `pip install dspy` (which depended on litellm>=1.64.0), you'd also be pwnd. Same for any other large project that depended on litellm.
Afaict the poisoned version was up for only less than ~1 hour. The attack had a bug which led to its discovery - Callum McMahon was using an MCP plugin inside Cursor that pulled in litellm as a transitive dependency. When litellm 1.82.8 installed, their machine ran out of RAM and crashed. So if the attacker didn't vibe code this attack it could have been undetected for many days or weeks.
Supply chain attacks like this are basically the scariest thing imaginable in modern software. Every time you install any depedency you could be pulling in a poisoned package anywhere deep inside its entire depedency tree. This is especially risky with large projects that might have lots and lots of dependencies. The credentials that do get stolen in each attack can then be used to take over more accounts and compromise more packages.
Classical software engineering would have you believe that dependencies are good (we're building pyramids from bricks), but imo this has to be re-evaluated, and it's why I've been so growingly averse to them, preferring to use LLMs to "yoink" functionality when it's simple enough and possible.
This is my home in Kashmir right on the banks of River Jhelum. The place I took my first steps, spoke my first words. Gone since the 1990 Genocide. A Muslim family lives there illegally. I have tried for 2.5 years, submitted all papers to the Govt but every time, local officials say 'No home at that address'.
My mother still clutches the old key. Please help. Share and amplify my plea. Maybe, one day, justice will return our world to us. 🙏🏼🕉️🚩
Thumb rule of financial astrology.
Highest volatility happen near sun mercury conjunction & usually market makes a temporary high or low at the time of event.
@siamindia Vehicles bought b4 2023 are only E10 compatible. Insurances are stating that using E20 fuel on E10 compatible vehicles makes the Insurance void. There is no transparency on how much petrol is being blended and the profits from blending are also not passed on to the consumer
Hello @BlrCityPolice
There has been an incident of two police officers extorting an innocent (Kannadiga) person for a bribe of Rs. 37,000/- in Indiranagar when he had done NOTHING wrong
No FIR done by police; only departmental enquiry has started. Threat calls being made (1/9)
@DrDeepakKrishn1 We have something similar in our machine learning and AI algorithms. We call it ensembling where multiple models predict an outcome(E.g. Yes or No). If the models get to vote, the cumulative accuracy is a lot higher.
In a circular on July 1, 2024, it said that market infrastructure institutions such as stock exchanges, depositories and clearing corporations must levy uniform charges on stock brokers rather than the existing discounted charges based on their trading volumes.
By doing this SEBI is claiming to rationalise charges & end up making it costlier for small traders , as whatever brokers loose will be made up by increasing charges on investors . Few institutions are good if they are not there unless managed professionally , SEBI is one of them , they can’t regulate sudden change in rules / margins as this sudden change if regulated will effect their personal bread and butter , they couldn’t regulate exorbitant premiums charged by undeserving issues like #NYKAA #RPOWER #PAYTM which mkts proved were exorbitantly valued , in these issues the country lost huge foreign exchange and its loosing now also , they are not able to stop organised Frauds by NSE done on 25th April in Idea opening trades and are settling scores of stock exchanges , as BSE will be suffer badly . @narendramodi@nsitharaman@RBI check this SEBI chief who has still not been able to block @SEBI_India this account on X which is not its and is taking innocent investors for a ride , also such is the extent of this nexus that both @ZeeBusiness@CNBC_Awaaz had taken up and tweeted on Idea fraud / manipulation but both tweets are now not available , at least I couldn’t find them . @OfficialAnmi@NSEIndia@BSEIndia
@NetflixIndia This household restriction made me buy a cheaper plan. I had a bigger tv at my home town but smaller tv in my home. To support bigget tv I bought the ultra hd plan. Now reduced it to 1080 as my hometown tv is not allowed to use it at my hometown due to household restrictions.
@WeekendInvestng There was a 20 year sideways movement after 1st Gold cycle. Has been roughly about 10 years now from the 2nd Gold cycle. Things could be different this time though, with the uncertain Global scenario. We might have a break out in a year or two.
@ashwinsid@geekyranjit Not yet. I am working with the assumption that 5g is not enabled in our locality. I will check it tomorrow in my office area if it latches to a 5g network
