🎂 This year, the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany @BVerfG turns 75!

📚 To commemorate this momentous anniversary, Matthias Jestaedt @UniFreiburg, Anna-Bettina Kaiser @HumboldtUni, Angelika Nußberger @UniCologne, and Andreas Voßkuhle @UniFreiburg have assembled a group of scholars and judges from 42 jurisdictions around the world to reflect on the Court, its work, and its influence abroad.

📝 My chapter is titled "Does Unamendability Ever Matter?" I suggest that unamendable constitutional rules matter only rarely -- and that one of these rare instances is evident in Germany, namely that unamendable constitutional rules matter where they are backed by an authoritative court of last resort that is both willing and able to enforce them against noncompliant actors.
