For example, The ACS's "Cancer Statistics, 2025" (Cancer Statistics, 2025), published January 15, 2025, projects 2,041,910 new cancer cases and 618,120 deaths in 2025. It notes a continued decline in cancer mortality rates through 2022, averting nearly 4.5 million deaths since 1991 due to smoking reductions, earlier detection, and improved treatments. There is no mention of a "non-linear rise" or excess deaths of 110,750 since 2021.
