Someone posted their Kentucky Derby infield photos from 1980 on fb and I’m obsessed with how debaucherous it looks.

@bluearrowMaps My hometown, Union, is in Boone County and not Union County. Boonesborough is in Madison County, not Boone County. Madison County is home to Union City, which has nothing to do with my hometown Union or Union County. God bless Kentucky!

Before the standardization of Kentucky’s flag in 1962 there was a lot more room for creative liberty- the most common example being the changes in the two people shaking hands the statesman and pioneer were traded out based on context- but anyway here’s a couple old flags I like.
