Right now, if you’re not cheering for the Iranian people to break free of the yoke that has been around their neck for a long, long, time, something is wrong with you.
@asymtrades@derekquick1 The real question is, is it a good short ? To me it looks like it’s on a ledge, and if you flip the chart upside down, it would be a very tempting buy.

@beffjezos@stferret Here’s a Bell labs story FWIW… a long time ago (90’s?) I worked within a division of AT&T. Worked with some Bell labs scientists that had developed signature recognition technology that allowed you to determine ( for credit card signature) the probability of valid signatures.

@shawngorham You’re probably right. Interesting story though.. I had a neighbor that re-did his mom’s wood shake roof. A labor of love - it looked fantastic. Granted in CA it’s a fire hazard. Not long after, his mom passed away. The new owner leveled the place - asphalt installed!
@realEstateTrent It’s an interesting angle. A long while back my family really got really screwed by Uber - I Fedexed a detailed compliant letter to new CEO. Included call center dialogue, tons of information. Saw that it was signed for. Never heard a thing.
Is California the only place where parents spend a small fortune on their home, and then drive their children to a different neighborhood to trick or treat?
@lopp Wow, good insight @loop, and also interesting detective work. Personally I think people also hate to be wrong, and just dig in. So much more liberating (and lucrative) to say “I used to believe xyz, but now it’s clear that this was the wrong way to think about it”.
New blog on desalination. I think solar plus matched desal can get below 10c/m^3, cheap enough that we can put 5 million acre feet into Nevada, terraforming about 1500 miles of valleys and waterways in that state (>90% remains unchanged though) and creating space for tens of millions of people to find wealth and opportunity in the process.
@MomAngtrades@market_sleuth Also, let’s face it, America is aging. Lot of older homeowners with far more house than they need. Families having 1.1 kids and 2.2 dogs. Unless you recruit foreign buyers, deep secular downtrend imo

Gets home… I know mom, I should have tried harder, but a Silver medal is pretty good, it’s the Olympics. Left hand in pocket is best part of this photo! Congratulations!
Say what you will about Joe, stepping down from power and giving the people the opportunity to peacefully decide their future is what Makes America Great Always. Its likely that any recent immigrant to the USA can see this much more clearly than those born here.
