Couldn't help but critique all the ways technology was used ineffectively in all of my district meetings on my first day back! Guess it's time to send out some #MayerModalityPrinciple pamphlets. #EDU6323
Thinking I'll rework Miller's statement that "we strive to be good at things, to develop bonds with other people, and to make our own choices" into my professional goal this year. #EDU6323
I used the polling feature on Zoom quite a bit last year to check for understanding on math concepts and for fun "Would You Rather" brain breaks. I'm interested in using it in different ways this upcoming year! #EDU6323
@Mlevesque_45@bwatwood @MissEmZee I've never heard of that! I'll have to check it out. Maybe I can introduce it before the kids do and be the "cool" teacher!

The sixth verb, generating, in Kelly's video doesn't appear in his new list of 12 verbs. I'm wondering how this verb evolved in Kelly's expanded list. I'm having a hard time finding any information about it or figuring it out myself! Thoughts? #EDU6323
@pantellere I was in Europe for 6 weeks the summer of 2004, traveling from Malta to Germany, where Numa Numa was a huge hit at the time. I was a little jealous that I had to share it with the whole world once it started to spread, to be honest. #EDU6323
Struggled to understand Kelly's 6th verb, generating. I found this old (2008) article on his website that helped me to understand it better: https://t.co/eUW9jAeZii

Wesch's video shows how YouTube rose to what it is today due to its user-driven community. The most disliked video of all time: YouTube Rewind 2018. The reason: "it focused more on its advertisers than its community" #EDU6323

@neuAnnaK @billyeichner Seems like people have been having some fun with it already as I look at the comments! I checked out the page myself and those changes have already been removed. The powers that be are QUICK! #EDU6323
@KatieMu76677376 @Flipgrid Yes, the discussion would be asynchronous and students from the other class will be able to comment on their discussion of the book. We'll have to play around with it a bit to see how it works out! #EDU6323
@neuAnnaK I absolutely agree! I just mentioned this in a comment above as I was scrolling through tweets this morning. I usually direct my students towards the references at the bottom if they find information they want to use. #EDU6323
@stephanie_frad I love Wikipedia for a general overview. It's also a great place to find a collection of referenced sources on a topic! I always show my students how they can go into the references to cite information. #EDU6323
@NeeveMacG Last year was the first year I used #Jamboard in my classroom and my students and I really enjoyed it! Here's another link with tips on how you can use Jamboard in the classroom! https://t.co/Q8GnWTZVR6 #EDU6323#edtech
First time I've ever explored the community links on Wikipedia and it is so interesting! Liking the Village Pump! Wikipedia gets a bad rap for being a collaborative site, but here we are able to see just how democratic the changes are. #EDU6323
Anyone else used to (or still do) play the Wikipedia game where you start at the featured article and choose a topic to get to using links alone? Well, now there's a digital version of it! Let's hope this doesn't distract me too much today... https://t.co/U6gaXVdiBt

Even though I'm learning online, I still need something that FEELS officially like school. A closed LMS system like Canvas helps me to compartmentalize my online activity. I usually close ALL other social networking sites in order to stay focused. #EDU6323
@Mlevesque_45 I never used Google Feed, but I added a few of the blogs that I researched during week 2 along with @edutopia, @TED_ED, and @FoodNetwork (gotta get through those extra challenging days with a little motivation)! I have to start paying attention to AI suggestions! #EDU6323
Signed up for Inoreader and have a nice collection of educational blogs and websites started! I think this will be a nice way to keep my lessons fresh. I guess it's about time I learned what that "slanted wifi" button actually does! #EDU6323
Between using a closed LMS system and a social networking site for 5th graders, the choice is easily a closed LMS due to my students' age. I'd be very apprehensive using a social networking site with students due to the amount of distractions I feel it would cause! #EDU6323
