@howie_hua I love this! My fourth graders are so in love with number talks like these. 15 x 10 is 150 and 15 x 6 which is 30 + 30 + 30= 90. Then 150 +100 - 10= 240
@BerkeleyEverett Still thinking about thisโฆ I think I will show the left side (arrays) and ask students to solve. Taking their partial products, I will then pose a true/false with the right side of your visual. I will report back! I love 16 so much that I may have posed this problem already. ๐
@BerkeleyEverett Mental math, these arrays show much evidence of why flexibility with numbers is important (math identity) instead of a certain strategy used every time is someoneโs math identity. For me, this is what is different. ๐
