I'm also continuing to post updates on my website (https://t.co/lDA2HJRUQD) - you can find my lastest updates on my electrical collection there
@MarketUrbanism @ChittiMarco Plus, since socket circuits use 120V, more of them are needed to avoid tripping a breaker
If you combine this with the last factor you can see why a household supply would be sized much larger than it really needs to be
Arrived in Rijeka 🇭🇷. It’s been a great trip onboard the inaugural train from Villa Opicina 🇮🇹.
It’s a great service, I hope it will be a success!
Thanks for the invite @slozeleznice! Good to meet @superalbs and @tech963 also. 😀
@GarethDennis Gotta love those old DMUs! They were made by Fiat in the 70s, essentially identical to the Italian ALn668, and later had their chassis swapped (which is why they look so different from their Italian counterparts nowadays)
@GarethDennis@RailNatter If you want to try a heritage train there's one running from/to Trieste this sunday, though! With a 1930s electric loco and matching coaches. Should be within daytrip distance of where you are staying
@GarethDennis@RailNatter Afaik the steam trains aren't running, I talked to one of the people organising heritage train runs and apparently there are some problems with the Slovenian steam locos. But normal regionals are running (with Fiat DMUs from the 70s) and the views are wonderful
@GarethDennis@RailNatter Ooh, which one? The Transalpina/Bohinjska line is the one I was thinking of, it's open (went on it 2 weeks ago to catch a EuroCity to Germany) but with a bus substitution for just a few km
The electrification of Caltrain has reached another historic milestone! Trains operated under power from the overhead contact system (OCS) for the first time! Read more: https://t.co/fa4vfuvM3e
