🚀 What the AI Opportunities Action Plan Means for Startups

I was in the room this morning to hear those words from the Prime Minister as the Government launched the AI Opportunities Action Plan authored by Matt Clifford.

It's a great piece of work. The stakes couldn’t be higher and for this Action Plan to truly succeed, and we need the Government to implement and deliver this plan in full.

Here’s why this matters for startups:

🎓 Talent to Power Innovation

And last but definitely not least… @matthewclifford himself will help create a new unit - UK Sovereign AI - housed between No. 10 and DSIT with a clear mandate of maximising the UK’s stake in frontier AI and clearing the way for great British AI companies.

One genuinely welcome thing I took away from this morning is that the PM understood the scale of the challenge.

Of course, getting it and then delivering on what’s required is not the same thing. So that’s what we’ll be working on at the @StartupCltn.
