Melt. Extract. Fuel. Repeat. 🚀
To build an affordable, sustainable presence on the Moon, we must learn to live off the land. Air Pioneer is a scalable, modular system that creates purified oxygen to reduce dependency on supplies from Earth. Using Moon-extracted oxygen for propellant, fuel cells, and breathing reduces our lunar landers’ load by many metric tons of mass. Launching less mass from Earth lowers the cost of our Moon base, fueling a future cislunar economy. 🌕
Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back.
Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: https://t.co/rzM1P0QbOl
LIVE: Watch with us as the Artemis II astronauts make their closest approach to the Moon, traveling farther from Earth than ever before. https://t.co/Zpy7GdTqA8
Designing an inference chip for robots is actually very difficult.
In data centers each chip is bathed in jacuzzi and babysat by nannies. If they died it would be hot swapped by one of their clones.
The fault rate of GPUs in datacenter is actually quite high. Industrial average annual fault rate of H100 is 9%. Ideal conditions could reduce it down to 2% but never below a single digit.
The fault recovery of GPU nodes actually could take a while, from minutes to hours. It is not instantaneous.
In robots, the chips are out in the cold and they need rapid self recovery. The fault tolerance is in a different league. It is not uncommon many robotic companies struggle to get the chip running more than a few hours without rebooting.
For chip companies, this is great since they would tell robotic companies to buy more chips for hot swapping.
For robotic companies, this is bad since it is obviously not a scaleable solution but they are stuck with endless back-and-forth JIRA tickets with vendors.
Some of Jared Isaacman's goals as NASA Administrator 🚀
• Pursue Mars and Moon missions simultaneously within current budget
• Sees no reason to de-orbit the ISS before 2030 — "We need to make the most use of it while we have it"
• Make NASA financially self-sustaining
• Prioritize nuclear propulsion research
• Recruit America’s brightest minds for NASA
• Use social media to promote missions and inspire youth
• Strengthen tracking and cleanup of space debris
• Explore more deep space probes, rovers, and telescopes
“Jared’s passion for Space, astronaut experience, and dedication to pushing the boundaries of exploration, unlocking the mysteries of the universe, and advancing the new Space economy, make him ideally suited to lead NASA into a bold new Era" — Donald Trump
Thank you, Mr. President @POTUS, for this opportunity. It will be an honor to serve my country under your leadership. I am also very grateful to @SecDuffy, who skillfully oversees @NASA alongside his many other responsibilities.
The support from the space-loving community has been overwhelming. I am not sure how I earned the trust of so many, but I will do everything I can to live up to those expectations.
To the innovators building the orbital economy, to the scientists pursuing breakthrough discoveries and to dreamers across the world eager for a return to the Moon and the grand journey beyond--these are the most exciting times since the dawn of the space age-- and I truly believe the future we have all been waiting for will soon become reality.
And to the best and brightest at NASA, and to all the commercial and international partners, we have an extraordinary responsibility--but the clock is running. The journey is never easy, but it is time to inspire the world once again to achieve the near-impossible--to undertake and accomplish big, bold endeavors in space...and when we do, we will make life better here at home and challenge the next generation to go even further.
NASA will never be a caretaker of history--but will forever make history.
Godspeed, President Donald J. Trump, and Godspeed NASA, as America leads the greatest adventure in human history 🇺🇸
