Land slide in #Abina Kebele #Telemt District, #NorthGonder Zone, #Amhara region, #Ethiopia

In Abina Kebele (rural precinct) within Telemt district, around the area known as Nola, a disastrous land slide caused the loss of life and destruction of residential homes as well as farm lands. This specific area has been enduring continuous war and aggression for the past few years. The area has also been affected by severe drought recently. Telemt woreda (district) was also particularly impacted by a high number of displaced people due to war and identity based attacks. The majority of the IDPs that were already there are reported to be highly vulnerable where many of them are women and children. With this new disaster, the humanitarian situation in the district is bound to deteriorate even worse. Many aid agencies were not able to address this area citing safety and security as a major concern! Now the humanitarian situation has worsened due to this landslide and if aid agencies local and international do not initiative an emergency aid program for the area, countless lives will be lost again.
Thus far:
📍23 people have died
📍1,775 ha cropland has been decimated
📍 48 residential homes have been destroyed
📍 2,700 people have been displaced.

በጠለምት ወረዳ፤ አብና ቀበሌ ልዩ ስሙ ኖላ በተባለ አካባቢ በደረሰ የመሬት መንሸራተት፤ የሰው ህይወት አልፏል፤ ብዙ ንብረትም ወድሟል፤ በሺዎችም ተፈናቅለዋል! ይህ አካባቢ በጦርነት፤ በድርቅ እንዲሁም፤ በተለየ ሁኔታ፤ ሴቶች እና ህፃናት ተፈናቃዮች ለረዥም ግዜ ምንም አይነት እርዳታ ሳያገኙ የተሰቃዩበት ወረዳ ነው። ከደህንነት ጋር በተያያዘ በሚቀርብ ምክንያት እርዳታ ሰጭዎች ብዙ አገልግሎቶች መስጠት ያልቻሉበት ቦታ ነው። አሁን ችግሩ ተባብሷል። ስቃይ ላይ ናቸው! እርዳታ የሚከናወንበት መንገድ መታሰብ ይኖርበታል!

📍የ23 ሰዎች ህይወት አልፏል
📍በ1 ሺ 775 ሄክታር ላይ የተዘራ ሰብል ወድሟል
📍የ48 መኖሪያ ቤቶች ጉዳት ደርሶባቸዋል ፤
📍የ2ሺህ 700 ነዋሪዎችም ከቀያቸው ተፈናቅለዋል ፤

⚡️UPDATE - Oromo Prosperity Party Regime Forces Execute 16 Civilians in Brutal Retaliation

📍Central Gonder Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia

♦️ On August 21st, in Amchaho village, regime forces executed four civilians after suffering heavy losses to Fano fighters.

♦️ On August 22nd, regime reinforcements from Qoladiba town and Gonder city arrived in Shahura town, killing at least 12 civilians, including children.

On August 22, 2024, after suffering significant losses on the battlefield, the genocidal army executed 7 innocent civilians in the city. Yesterday, on August 23, 2024, the regime's blood thirsty criminal soldiers, executed 17 more innocent civilians in public, bringing the total number of innocent victims to 24 in two days.

We would like to express our commitment to continuing our efforts to expose the regime's cruelty to the international community.
