Since Nov. 2020 women in #Tigray have had their bodies become a battlefield with weaponized #Genocidal#rape &sexual slavery being used a widespread systematic strategy in the ongoing #TigrayGenocide . #Ashenda is celebration of women resistance & existence as people @UNGeneva

🚨 Urgent Appeal for #Tigray 🚨 In the village of Yechila, Tigray, hunger & devastation are claiming lives. Farmers abandoned fields due to landmines, and war aftermath exacerbates the crisis. A famine is looming, yet the world's attention remains elsewhere. #TigrayFamine@CARE
How can we trust a Nation whose budget is largely devoted to wars, which opts for drones & an imperial palace to the detriment of economic ambition & the fight against worsening famine? To explain the default by talking about equitable treatment of all creditors is pitiful...
According to data just released by the Nutrition Cluster, these people starved to death following the longest period in 2023 that absolutely no nutrition support was available for pregnant and lactating women or children with moderate acute malnutrition.

PM Abiy blew Ethiopia’s foreign reserves on wars and vanity projects like a vast palace for himself - apparently costing $10 billion. Ethiopian growth - once the best in Africa - has slumped. Not impressive to leave hundreds of thousands dead, millions hungry and debt rising
For the 4th year in #holiday season and #Christmas, the humanitarian catastrophe in #Tigray continues unabated, 14 months after the #CoHA. Over 2 million people in the region face famine now, induced by the genocidal war that was followed by drought in several districts.
The #Eritrean forces continue to besiege the areas of Tigray they violently occupied including the #Irob district. Signaling further threat of invading more areas, these forces have been building up their forces in border areas of Western, North Western, Central and North Eastern zones of Tigray and the districts they continue to violently occupy in those zones.
The @PMEthiopia govt has failed to remove the external forces from Tigray & enable unrestricted access for aid & commercial goods to Tigray as per the CoHA. It's outrageous the Fed Govt is now denying the famine in Tigray that is killing hundreds if not thousands daily.
Moreover, the authorities in Addis Ababa are also arresting & detaining #Tigrayan humanitarian activists (non-profit org leaders) and volunteers that attempted to raise funds for famine victims in Tigray.

#Sudan’s worsening conflict is playing out before our eyes, which in just 8 months has:
- displaced 7m people, 1.5m of whom have fled into neighbouring countries;
- forced 70% of health facilities in conflict-affected areas to close or drastically cut services;
- left 11m people needing urgent health aid;
- seen #cholera spread in 9 States, with over 8200 people infected.
@WHO, with local partners, is supporting efforts to treat people afflicted by cholera, acute malnutrition and other conditions, running outbreak early warning systems, supplying medicines and more.
We are also responding to the health needs of Sudanese sheltering in neighboring nations, incl. South Sudan.
The int'l community must intensify its response to find ways to end the conflict and deliver aid needed by the people of Sudan.
