Privileged to be part of this mega RCT. The evidence on initial FiO2 in Extreme premies resuscitation will guide future protocols. The secondary outcomes have shown interesting insights. @ebneo#neotwitter#premies#resuscitation#oxygen
Among preterm newborns, initiating resuscitation with FIO2 of 0.6 vs 0.3 did not change risk of death or major brain injury at 36 weeks’ corrected age in a multinational RCT. 🧵

AIIMS Jodhpur takes immense pride as Dr Lokesh Saini Associate Professor Pediatric Neurology receives the prestigious AB Baker Teacher Recognition Award from the American Academy of Neurology.
He is the only Indian this year and just the second pediatric neurologist from India to receive this honour in the last 70 years.
A proud moment for Indian medical education.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) today released the revised Operational Guidelines on Facility-Based Newborn Care (FBNC) under the leadership of the AS & MD (NHM), during the inauguration of National Newborn Week 2025 and the SAANS Campaign 2025-26.
Revised after 14 years, these guidelines bring together updated evidence and field experience to further strengthen the quality of care for small and sick newborns across India.
These initiatives reaffirm India’s commitment to improving newborn survival, enhancing family-centred care, and ensuring every baby receives the protection and support they need from birth.

Can nHFOV be a better rescue mode than NIMV after nCPAP failure in preemies? 🤔
RCT Findings:
✅ Both nHFOV & NIMV reduce mechanical ventilation need
✅ nHFOV shows promise as a rescue mode
✅ More multi-center trials needed
