Excited to continue my journey building mental health tech @spring_health (series D, $2.5B cap)!
We're launching a new venture within Spring and hiring senior engineers to create a stellar founding team.
Small, fast-paced team of builders and ex-founders in person in SF.
For a long time, I thought that sleep masks were pretty weird. Then I got one and found myself consistently sleeping for an additional 30-60 mins per night. https://t.co/6S6e2iaARh
People want to work for (or build!) companies that are both robust businesses *and* a force for good.
As this movement accelerates, I believe we’ll see more professionals running toward roles that not only challenge them technically but also align with their personal values.
The most consistent interview pattern I’m seeing as we build a new team in health tech:
A strong pull from candidates who are genuinely and intrinsically motivated to work on something they care about and that makes a positive change in the world.
Hot take (as an Italian) -
The serving order of Primo and Secondo should we switched.
It is metabolically healthier to front load protein, fiber, and fats as shown by simply wearing a CGM.
The rise of the "AI engineer" is highlighting 2 challenges for traditional devs:
1) They need to learn how to program a computer using natural language and its nuances
2) They need to embrace change and accept that many problems can now be solved with completely new approaches
@ryanflorence I'm building an app in Remix and one in Next app router. Noticed the same mapping of concepts but Remix learning curve was much easier and more intuitive.
Reminder (to self): a simple "are you ok" can make someone's day.
Yesterday at the Caltrain I got harassed by a lady with mental health problems.
A passerby noticed it and asked me: "are you ok?". I immediately noticed a shift from agitated/triggered to appreciative/calm.
@Klintcho Yes. Anything that's a transactional job to be done with the help of an assistant feels appropriate for chat/voice. More complex use cases, esp B2B, will need new UX paradigms that integrate the generative step with other affordances.
We built a plugin called Tiramisu - your sweetest productivity tool to help plan and schedule your life via GCalendar integration: just ask ChatGPT to create a meal plan or workout schedule for you and it will add events to your cal taking into account preferences and conflicts.
6b. A user prompt in natural language results in server taking action, with nothing in-between - no code to call an API nor to interpret the response - all taken care of by the model! Eventually, all service-to-service communication may happen without any code written by a dev 🤯
