To give you a sense of how stupid this is, on the 20 minute drive between the Krispy Kreme on Thompson Lane in Nashville and the Krispy Kreme on Mallory Lane in Brentwood, you pass through five different congressional districts.
On August 6, 1965, the Voting Rights Act was signed into law as my father looked on. It was not a gift. It was the result of sacrifice, courage, organizing, and nonviolent struggle.
I believe my father would be deeply troubled by the ongoing efforts to weaken voting rights and make fair representation harder to secure. But I also believe he would not want us to surrender to frustration or despair.
We have work to do. We must organize with discipline, demand new voting rights protections, and continue pressing toward a democracy where every voice is valued and every vote is protected.

Let us continue to pray for peace in #Iran and throughout the #Middle East, especially for the many civilian victims, including many innocent children. May our prayer offer comfort to those who suffer and a seed of hope for the future. #PrayTogether

Bad theology gets people killed.
If your theology justifies the killing of thousands of people in order to expedite the apocalypse and quicken the second coming of Christ… let it go.
God is not a monster.
God is not a blood-hungry villain.
God is love.
God is with the widows and orphans, the moms in Iran holding their babies.
God stands with the vulnerable, the meek, the merciful.
Jesus is the Prince of peace.
He blesses the peacemakers not the warmakers.
He carried a cross not a gun.
He loved his enemies so much he was willing to die for them.
Choose love. Love always wins.
@RepOgles But we know it's not really about "protecting children". Otherwise you'd be fired up about the Epstein files and not protecting daddy Trump. The racism is the point.
@RepOgles Also, you DO realize you could just...not watch the halftime show, right? That's what my evangelical youth group Super Bowl watch parties did literally every year when I was growing up. Pretty damn simple.
@TheTNHoller Couldn't agree more. Lifelong Tennesseean. Moved to CA in 2023 and the quality of life improvement is unreal. Also, I live in the Bay Area and can confidently say that the crime rate here is way less than in Metro Nashville.
