Israeli soldiers went door to door in the border village of Ain Arab, forcing residents from their homes at gunpoint, journalist Lylla Younes reports in her latest Drop Site investigation.

The forced expulsion of Ain Arab was a striking example of the Israeli military’s campaign to ethnically cleanse villages across southern Lebanon, with an estimated 60 villages completely destroyed south of the “Yellow Line” Israel declared on April 19, barring residents from ever returning.

Younes said it is emblematic of what Israel is doing across the south:

“There isn’t any sort of discernible calculus here besides mass destruction and mass instability really and mass punishment of a people.”

كتب السومريون، الذين دونوا أقدم السجلات المكتوبة لأي حضارة اكتشفت حتى الآن، عن أصول السماوات والأرض من خلال قصة الخلق. اكتشفت لوح طيني مسماري سومري في جيرسو (تل تيلوه) جنوب بلاد ما بين النهرين، وكتب خلال عصر الأسرات المبكرة في الألفية الثالثة قبل الميلاد، ربما حوالي عام 2900 قبل الميلاد، يروي زمنا في بداية الخلق لم يكن فيه ضوء النهار موجودا، ولم يكن القمر مشرقا لأنه لم يكن موجودا، ولم تكن "الآلهة الصغرى" قد خلقت بعد، وكانت الحقول والنباتات لا تزال مجرد تراب، وكانت الأرض مليئة بالماء كجزء من عملية الخلق.

🍃 عندما قرأت المنشور (post) لم أفهم ما هي هذه الاكلة العراقية؟ خصوصا اني لم اعرف معنى كلمة "بقلاء"! لكن بعد التمعن في الفيديو توصلت ان في الصحن "فول" كما نسميه في لبنان وسوريا، لكن كان هناك عقبات اخرى لأفهم هذا المنشور (post)... لذلك بحثت عن معنى تعبير
"الدهن الحر" وجدت انه السمن الحيواني (أو الزبدة) الذي يُضاف ساخناً فوق الخبز والباقلاء (اي الفول) ليكسبها نكهتها الغنية المميزة... طبعا عرفت "البيض" لكن لم اتوقع ان يطبخ ويعوم البيض في هكذا كمية من الدهن الحر (السمن الحيواني) ثم يُوضع فوق الطبق... ثم الإضافات الاخرى: قرأت ان الوجبة تُرش بنبات "البطنج" ولم اعرف ما هو "البطنج"! الى ان بحثت وقرأت على انه "النعناع البري المجفف" وعلى انه نبات عشبي عطري معمر ينتمي إلى الفصيلة الشفوية (عائلة النعناع) وتوصلت ان الوجبة هذه تُؤكل مع البصل الأخضر و"النارنج" ولم اعرف ما هو "النارنج" الى ان قرأت وتوصلت أنه نوع من أشجار الحمضيات يُنتج ثماراً تشبه البرتقال في الشكل، لكنها شديدة "الحموضة والمرارة" ويسمى عندنا في لبنان وسوريا برتقال "أبو صفير"... هذه كانت رحلة مع كلمات عراقية جديدة تعلمت معناها - طبعا الانطباع الذي خرجت به ان هذه أكلة غنية دسمة تصب وتؤكل ساخنة وهي مغذية جدا وربما بعض الناس قد لا يحتاجون كل هذه الكمية من الدهون؟! لكن ربما آخرون ممن يعملون جسديا وبشدة وبجهد يوميا قد تكون تماما هي المطلوب ليحافظوا على حاجاتهم اليومية من التغذية والوحدات الحرارية
