A truly satisfying moment 😊
Our research on #diatoms from the Keladi excavations is now showcased at the Keladi Museum. Great to see science reaching common people and connecting the lab with society 🔬🏛️
Sharing diatom-based evidence to reconstruct hydrological variability during human habitation at Keeladi. Nice to see microfossils adding another layer to the Sangam-period story, alongside multiple disciplinary archaeology. Meeting organised by TN archaeology department.
New book for Ecologists in love with R under the UseR! series.
Ecological R packages described by their developers.

Very happy and proud to see Dr. Mital Thacker’s outstanding PhD work on Myristica swamp diatoms getting this recognition. A proud moment for her and team @DiatomsofIndia
Dr. Mital Thacker @thacker_mital has been awarded the D.B. Chougule (Burlikar) Gold Medal by @PuneUniv for the best PhD thesis in Botany. Her work focused on the present and past diatoms of the unique Myristica swamp ecosystems of the Western Ghats with @karthickbala at @ari_pune. This continues ARI’s efforts in documenting and conserving the unique ecosystems of the Western Ghats.
Scientists have discovered 𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔, a new #diatom species, off #India's southwestern #coast. This microscopic marvel boasts a unique, asymmetrical shape, adding to our understanding of #marine#biodiversity.

🌧️ In the heart of the monsoon, our team is out collecting water and sediment samples—rain or shine! 🌊🌿
Also spending time with local communities to understand how they perceive changes in water quality. #MonsoonScience#WaterQuality#CitizenVoices#FieldworkIndia
Our team is studying seasonal water quality and diatom communities from the headwaters of the Bhima River Basin — aiming to understand how stream health changes across time and space. #Diatoms#RiverEcology#BhimaRiver#FreshwaterScience
