๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐จ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ [๐๐๐ข๐]: the alarming growth of private cars in height, width, length and weight at the expense of public space, the environment and overall safety.
At 10:44am today @DC_DOB had a trash truck in the alley between R st nw and Warner St NW and took out a telephone pole. They didnโt report it and left a pole with live wires hanging in the alley. Thanks to residents the alley is now closed but still dangerous @PoPville
@wmata Thank you
May i pls speak to a WMATA employee about this story further? Is there Phone number I can call and if so what is it please? I don't want the driver punished. I just want to better understand how to communicate my needs as a passenger to drivers, and hear driver's needs
Hello @wmata the operator of bus 4745 seemed to be having a tough time today M70 EB just now
-was aggressive in reminding riders about fare. He knocked on plexiglass divider and open it while the at a red light to turn around and shout at us
-I had to beg him to kneel the bus
Suitland Parkway @ Stanton Road SE is littered with debris from vehicles crashes at that intersection. Please have someone clean it up @DDOTDC@DCDPW@311DCgov@usparkpolicepio
A completely unserious vehicle with long expired paper tags is parked in the 1300 block of Alabama Ave SE @311DCgov. It sports a VA hard tag in the front.
To make things worse, the operator pulled away almost immediately after I boarded with 2 heavy pieces of luggage. I almost fell while trying to navigate an aisle crowded with a walker and other passengers
@wmata@wmataGM@better_metro@Metrobusinfo
@wmataGM@Metrobusinfo@wmata operator of bus 4762 J2 eastbound stopped in the travel lane despite the bus stop/bike lane area (pictured) being clear, and refused to kneel the bus to make it easier to board
Please connect with the operator to remediate this, thanks!
wild morning,
got yelled at by a dude in a white Audi โGet a lifeโ as he drove by Lilyโs corner, where the city is actively creating life saving infrastructure to protect life at a corner where a life was lost.

Another feature of the complete streets remake of CT Ave that has been postponed because we are inexplicably revisiting design issues that were exhaustively examined b4 Mayor Bowser correctly chose Option 3 2 years ago - @CMFrumin we've talked enough - it is time to move forward.
Overheard the bus driver talking to another passenger about how much easier and more efficient these bus bulbouts on M St SE make his job now that he no longer needs to pull in and out of traffic. ๐ฏ
Eight years and several traffic fatalities later, Vision Zero isn't working the way that D.C. officials had hoped.
This @WashInformer article features various takes on the situation and explains what the D.C. Council is cooking up for the fall. https://t.co/Qo53yaMka9
The crazy part is Shepherd Park and Foxhall and other wealthy neighborhoods have many streets with this exact measure just to prevent cut through traffic in front of expensive homes, but DDOT objects to giving it to poor kids.
