@EvilGnomey True, Australia & Paraguay both know they can't finish lower than 3rd.
But finishing 3rd with only 3pts is a big risk not to go through as one of eight best third-placers.
Why risk it? Accept a draw, both bank 4pts, enjoy going into the knockouts.
@debaser337@urkedal_odin@FPLMeerkat Paraguay almost definitely won't, given their minus GD already.
Australia would be sweating with only 3pts.
Take the draw, everyone's happy.
@debaser337@urkedal_odin@FPLMeerkat I reckon there's more major incentive to guarantee quali for a knockout game, than leave yourself exposed to a defeat and likely elimination at group stage.
Especially for teams like AUS & P' guay who know they aren't winning the tournament anyway.
@jkitsallgood@SamENole@Ten_Hi You think a team like Australia would risk not qualifying... over and above a convenient draw to get through to the knockouts... just to avoid a certain team in Ro32 for a tournament they know they are never going to win? ๐คฃ
@SamENole@jkitsallgood@Ten_Hi Noted.
But I'm not sure even with the old system that Australia still wouldn't be content to play out a draw, rather than risk a defeat and not qualify from 3rd place with only 3 points (& technically could even finish bottom).
@Sticks_49@IngrahamAngle@Mark_Penn Fuel taxes in CA pay directly for road & infrastructure. Or you can go to Arkansas, or Louisiana, or Kansas, or Mississippi etc etc and pay less at the pump... which results in a huge gap in funding for roads that gets filled by higher general sales taxes.
@da_slippy_dippy@JDaltonRH@AnatoliUkraine@visegrad24 But societal factors related to drugs aren't important & don't need to be addressed according to you!
The hypocrisy escapes you ๐
When it's drugs you want the facilitators eliminated.
When it's gun deaths, the facilitator (the fucking guns themselves) get a free pass.
@da_slippy_dippy@JDaltonRH@AnatoliUkraine@visegrad24 Ah well, if it's gang violence the deaths don't matter I guess!
In addition, people taking their own lives (how many of those are caused by stress related medical debt btw???) are seemingly completely worthless & we shouldn't do anything to try to prevent those???
@JoJoFromJerz No. The right to bear arms shall not be infringed and the militia act of 1792, said the militia would have the same weapons as the army. You need to read your founding documents and your history. You again are wrong.
