One divide in evangelicalism:

Is Doug Wilson basically "on our team"?

He preaches the gospel, encourages the church... and, from time to time, ok, he makes some significant mistakes. But who hasn't?

Or is he a danger to the church?

Because, to mention just a few concerns, he teaches aberrant theology (e.g. Federal Vision), has praised Southern slavery, has defended abusers rather than their victims, teaches men to oppress women, and avoids accountability.

@ExaminingMoscow Such a huge false dichotomy. Of course we teach our kids to have self control and control over their emotions. And of course we discipline like the Bible commands. The issue is just whether parents discipline for perceived attitude or not.

I think the current Great Sort” is more about whether you view yourself as a person who Jesus needs to lovingly cleanse from sin vs. a person who wields Jesus’ authority in the ideological power struggle.
