Mental illnesses have a biological component same as dementia. The OG post implies categorizing something as mental illness means it is less biologically based.

@JonathanShedler I think people are using phones to look up menus more often. So restaurants may be tending to in person menus as a back up rather than default. I haven't seen 1 menu a table but moreso QR code to scan and see menu on phone

imo wifejack captions trend towards passive comments. not necessarily passive aggressive, but the passivity many women will tell you that they themselves were and ARE forced to use to survive in society

hence it’s not,
“i want ice cream”

it’s
“do you want ice cream?” (because i want ice-cream but can only allow myself to accidentally have some as a side effect of you wanting to eat some)

and so imo when men poke at this, it’s fine for them to feel like it’s just a silly little thing. a quirk of interacting with someone who won’t always simply state things objectively. it’s catharsis for having to read between the lines

but for women, (re: the being trained/forced to engage with the world in this manner more often) having men create a meme about passive communication and make fun of it as an inherent part of being in a relationship with a woman, it’s easy to see why this would feel very sour for many women.

because either you as a woman don’t tend to engage with your relationships like that, and so it feels like a low effort stereotype attack on women,

or you do engage like that and don’t really appreciate getting teased about it en masse.
