How good it would be, if every athlete you #coached, walked away from training everyday - knowing - with certainty - that you believed in them, you cared about them, you had given them the very best you had to give and that you wanted nothing more than to see them be all the could be.
TREAT PEOPLE RIGHT.
Be intentional with others. Treat them as you want to be treated. Encourage them. Make them feel like they matter (because they do). Do this with people you know and with people you don't. Try your best every day to make someone else's day.
@skillacqlascu Absolutely spot on @skillacqlascu. We can replace the word ‘cricket’ with ‘Rugby’ in Australia. Somewhere in the 15-20 years Rugby has lost the plot with player recruitment and retention due to pseudo academies. Sad for both games.
It starts out with a stationary headbutt, and only improves from there...
"Talking to my ancestors..." 🤨
"Gladiatorial confrontation..." 😅
"Getting intimate in the best kind of way..." 😂
Max Lahiff: the most eloquent athlete interview ever?
A labour of love this story. I spoke to these guys pre-season and they were incredibly forthcoming. These ex-school teachers leading a @brisbanelions revival. It's an incredible system and this club's bounce back is stunning

Watching Chiefs-Crusaders and thinking how myopic US coaches get hung up on height/weight. Once had a “high performance” coach tell me a player “wasn’t tall enough” to play Fullback. Damian McKenzie is 5-9. Warrick Gelant and Leigh Halfpenny are 5-11. #GTFOH
